McCullum himself called 'Badgeball' a silly word, the real challenge will be in front of Australia

The term 'Badgeball' has become quite popular in cricket after the arrival of Brendon McCullum, the new Test coach of England. It is associated with playing cricket aggressively as McCullum used to play during his playing days and people know him by the name of 'Badge'. From this the word 'Badgeball' is derived. But after the uproar over the word, McCullum himself has come forward and said that there is absolutely no need to give undue importance to the word 'Bazzball'. He also reacted to Steve Smith's comment.

The term 'Badgeball' has become quite popular

McCullum's tenure began last month with a three-Test home series against New Zealand.

After beating the Kiwis 3-0, England recently beat India by seven wickets in the fifth Test at Edgbaston to level the series 2-2. During this, Joe Root, Jonny Bairstow and Ben Stokes are doing 'Badgeball' especially.

Also reacted to Smith's comment

However, Steve Smith was not entirely convinced with the 'Badgeball' strategy as he said that it remains to be seen whether the England batsmen will continue to bat in the same manner against Australia, which includes Mitchell Starc, Pat Cummins and Josh Hazlewood. Responding to Smith's comment, McCullum admitted that it would be challenging to deliver a great performance with such a fearless approach.

I don't know what 'Badgeball' is

"No, I don't know what 'Badgeball' is, but the boys have been fantastic, didn't really expect a better start than this," McCullum told Adam Gilchrist over the Sen WA Breakfast. I am sure our people will try to maintain a really positive attitude. I really don't like this silly word. ,

If we face Australia, it will be a big challenge

McCullum further said that when we take on Australia it will be a big challenge. It's going to challenge our way of seeing what we are capable of achieving. Reinvent yourself and then face the best.

Since the appointment of Brendon McCullum as England's red-ball coach and Ben Stokes as captain, England have won all four Tests they have played in the past few months. The formula has proved to be effective so far, but it remains to be seen whether the English team can handle the tough challenges on Pakistani soil at the end of the year.
