British brand Aston Martin introduced a new car, will sell only 249 units
Luxury British brand Aston Martin (Aston Martin) has introduced the new V12 Vantage Roadster (V12 Vantage Roadster). It is basically a Vantage Roadster, but this time, the manufacturer is offering it with a V12 powertrain. The roadster body style means that due to the roofless design, the riders will be able to hear the sound of the V12 engine even more. The company has announced that it will produce a total of 249 units of the V12 Vantage Roadster. Production of the V12 Vantage Roadster is scheduled to begin in the third quarter of 2022, with first deliveries scheduled to begin during Q4 2022.
The V12 engine of the Aston Martin Vantage has a capacity of 5.2 liters and is twin-turbocharged. This engine produces 700 PS of maximum power at 6,500 rpm and peak torque output of 753 Nm at 5,500 rpm. It is mated to an 8-speed torque converter automatic transmission which is sourced from the ZF.
The engine is mounted front-mid and power is transferred to the rear wheels. It gets the same suspension hardware that is used on the regular Vantage, but has been re-tuned by the manufacturer. The alloy wheels of the V12 Vantage are 21-inches and get Pilot 4S high-performance tires as standard. Whose size is 275/35 R21 at the front and 315/30 R21 at the back.
For braking, 6 piston calipers are used at the front and 4 piston calipers at the rear. Aston Martin is using carbon ceramic brakes to reduce brake fade. They also help in removing up to 23 kg of unsprung mass as compared to steel discs.
To keep the weight down, the V12 Vantage Roadster's front bumper, clamshell bonnet, front fenders and side sills are made from carbon fiber and the rear bumper and deck lid are made from weight-saving composite materials. Aston Martin has used a lighter battery and a new centre-mounted twin-exhaust system. The new exhaust system has helped in reducing the weight of the vehicle by 7.2 kg. It also gets new seats which help reduce the weight by 7.3 kgs.
